Night #6 – Extreme Sleep-over: Shelter Edition

Fundraising total is $2330. Almost half way there!

Recap of night #6!

7:10pm Arrive at shelter to execute my secret weapon to get a decent nights sleep…operation off leash walk!

9:00pm Dogs are back at the shelter and put away.

10:45pm I come back to the shelter. Dogs are more calm than usual. Mwah ha ha my plan worked!

10:50pm The kittens are enjoying my bed! As per Paula’s suggestion, I make up another bed in the office. She’s so smart!

11:00pm Sleeping buddy for tonight, Ms. Casey! She had a rough spay today and she’s in need of some rest. She and I both….minus the rough spay!

For those of you who don’t know Casey’s story: She was rescued from a landfill where she had been living along with Morgan, and a couple other dogs we weren’t able to catch.

She went from this..

to this…having the best sleep of her life in a safe and warm bed.

11:05pm I also bring Ms. Autumn to the office for a “last night in the shelter” slumber party!

11:10pm The girls settle in. Casey won’t let Autumn near me, so I make her up her own bed.

11:25pm. Early to bed! Well…earlier than 2:00am anyway!

3:50am I wake up to pee, and don’t wake any of the other dogs..marvelous! Al is yowling. He sounds like a ninja. Moved him into male cat cage on Sunday. He is apparently not impressed. Get in some snuggles with Casey and back to bed.

6:30am Wake up…not because of the dogs or the cats…but because of this…

There are an insane amount of house flies at the shelter who have no concept of personal space!

6:50am Let the girls outside to pee.

6:55am “You’re spayed? I’m spayed too!”

7:00am Autumn went pond swimming last night, so into the tub with her so she’s all clean for her new home!

Oh the injustice..

7:15am Towel dry Autumn and put her in her kennel. Set up comfy bed for Casey and put her in her kennel.

7:30am Night #6 complete! I was worried that I ran out of fingers for pictures, so I improvised! McGyver’s got nothing on me! (I apparently forgot about the fingers on my OTHER hand).

If you’d like to donate to help me reach my fundraising goal of $5000 and so I can get back to my warm bed, here’s how!

You would have to take the photo with your feet then… Or use your toes for counting, LOL… Actually I could take the photo with my feet… Sounds like a challenge for day 7… (hint – timer…)
